UMD Appoints New Jersey Representative

The United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ana Dukoska as the first UMD New Jersey Regional Representative.

“New Jersey is a home to over 40,000 Americans of Macedonian heritage, and we are excited to have Ana on board to energize and invigorate the Macedonian community in NJ,” said UMD Board Member and Director of U.S. Operations Trajko Papuckoski.

“I am extremely excited and very honored to be part of the UMD Team. Working to promote and protect our national identity, customs, and culture is something that I am very passionate about, and I have no doubt that with the UMD providing the platform, I will be able to achieve even more in that direction in the years to come,” said Dukoska.

Ana Dukoska was born and raised in Ohrid, Macedonia where she earned her high school diploma in Economics. She completed three years of college with honors in Banking Management at the European University. In 2007, she moved to the U.S. to further her education and professional career. Ana is currently an Office Manager/Bookkeeper at Pope Contracting Inc., a private company specializing in the construction industry.

In regards to her involvement with the Macedonian-American community, together with a friend, Ana founded the Aleksandria Macedonian Folk Dance Ensemble in December 2007 under the auspices of St. Nikola Macedonian Orthodox Church of Totowa, New Jersey. In the last six years, Aleksandria has performed throughout the United States, including at two of UMD’s Global Conferences, as well as at the annual Turkish Festival in Washington, D.C. before an audience of 25,000 people.
